Mint Julep Bread
Just in time for Derby Day. ;-)
I live on a busy street and here in Central Kentucky you can tell
when the actual race is being run... because all traffic stops!
Bread... Just out of the oven bread...
Is there anything better?
Yeast bread, made by hand or from a bread machine, is one of my VERY
favorite foods.
I remember learning to bake bread with my best friend, Julie. We
pretty much taught ourselves!
When we shared an apartment, it was a point of honor with us that we
didn't buy bread.
I made the Whole Wheat bread in big round loaves... no bread pans
for me! ;-)
Julie made *to die for* White Bread which we used for sandwiches.
Much later bread machines arrived on the scene. I scrimped and saved
for my first one. I was traveling a lot, and would drag my
bread machine along anytime I was going to be someplace for more
than about 2 weeks!
Everybody thought I was CRAZY, but they sure enjoyed the bread!
