COTTAGE CHEESE DILL BREAD
Dill, onion, and cottage cheese in a yummy, herbalicious bread!
Ingredients
1 pkg. yeast
● 1/4 cup warm water
● 1 tsp sugar for yeast preparation
●  1 tsp sugar for bread preparation
● 1 cup cottage cheese
● 1 1/2 tbs minced onion
● 1 tbs dill weed
● 1/2tsp baking powder
● 1 tsp salt
● 1 tbs sugar
● 1 egg
● 2 - 3 cups All purpose flour
● shortening to grease bowl
Equipment
Small Mixing Bowl
Large Mixing Bowl
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Cheese Grater
Sharp knife or chopper for onions
Loaf Pan or Baking Sheet
Step by Step
● Prepare yeast:
Sprinkle yeast over water. Sprinkle on sugar. Let set.
● Mix: cottage cheese, minced onion, dill weed, salt, sugar, egg
● Combine and add yeast mixture.
● Add 2 cups flour and knead in approximately 1 cup more.
● Knead
● Let rise in greased bowl until doubled (about 60 minutes)
● Make into loaf and let rise 40 minutes
● Bake 375 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
